he knows i'm kidding...

i could give two shits where we are staying... (well, if it's microtel, i might pass).. but..otherwise, i'll be where Raul says we are staying.... Jameson anyone?
we would potentially take the whole hotel and still not have enough space
On a serious note, I will post of my personal opinion of the situation. I appreciate everything Raul and the other organizers do for us, but I have always been a believer that constructive criticism is important, and I hope they all see and understand that I mean no harm, and I don't mean to offend anyone.
I agree with Raul, the dragon is about the people/club, and not the road. I can go to the dragon anytime, but I enjoy going there with the s2000 crew. Having said that, I am afraid the event has become LESS about the people, but NOT because of location. A great deal of the event is fragmented into parts where people are split up. Personally, one of the best times for me is the ballfield "car show." We only do it at night, when everyone is tired and wants to go to bed, but it's nice having everyone in one spot, walking around, BSing, etc. Nobody here races the dragon ALL day. We can easily take 4 hours out (9-1) and have a ballfield car show with a BBQ, where EVERYONE is there, BSing, having a good time, etc. We don't really have that, other than the dinner at the end, which is not nearly as social as a BBQ/show can be. For me, the venue of the event does nothing to improve or ruin the "people" aspect, but the mini-events do. We need a few more group activities (group lunches, car shows, etc.) Now, of course, I understand, it's hard to have a drive for 100+ cars, and impossible to find a restaurant that can handle 300 people walking in at the same time, but I do believe that we can have more "group events" and have a great time, without driving the dragon. The above is my personal opinion, and I will leave it at that. Regardless of where the event is held, I will be at Fontana, but still gladly pay the event fees because I really do appreciate the hard work that goes into planning it all. Like I said, this thread was not started to cause problems for anyone, and I totally get why Raul didn't want to be locked into a contract with Fontana.
Anywho, that's just my .02 and hope to see you guys on the next one!
