Not to be butting in....but in the past...cars other than S2000's, have been recognized in our activities...however...in the rear of our runs.... Most all of the cars that you mentioned...the Porsches, Lotus, Evos...etc...are members that have previously owned S2000's and have moved to other vehicles....They have been friends, for many years past...They will always....be welcome to cruise with us...but if you notice them...they will take their places, behind the group...Hope to meet you guys...& gals ?????

I agree with that reply. Who knows maybe one day they will trade in for S2000 if we show them a great time with all of us. Remember we all have not always driven the S and came into this great car. I believe that S2000 owners don't turn their noises on car owners and that is one of the reason we are a great group of people. If someone wants to join this event they should be included with us but live within the rules of the group and understand that we have a good track record with the locals in the area. Later Bama Dave.

I think the s2000 wake the dragon event should be reserved for s2000 owners and previous s2000 owners. All the other cars you mentioned were of previous s2000 owners, one a moderator . They have deep ties and friendships in the community.

That shared...I've always liked us on the calendar from an exposure sense...more people seeing it along with other clubs seeing it and planning accordingly (if necessary). For example, we wouldn't want to schedule an event the same time as the MINIs or the Miatas. Not that they're not awesome peeps...but it would simply be quite congested. Same goes for Harley groups or the like.

There's no conspiracy on why the info isn't shared and Ron/Nancy with Tail of the Dragon are über cool and always accommodating so please don't think otherwise.

Initially, I was also curious as to why we weren't on the calendar. However, curiosity turned to thankfulness pretty quickly when I realized that the local constabulary might indeed use that calendar for "planning purposes". I, too, am confident that we as a group are going to be very mindful of the laws and limits of the Dragon and NC roads in general. Still, I tend to agree that it'd be just as well if we go incognito to the rest of the world (same as any other driver on that road). /two cents

Lets not get too paranoid here.....

If the Local LEO's wanted to know when groups were coming down, it would take all of 10 minutes to find out about all groups.

Last I heard, they had internet access also!

Mary just snagged us a room. She says that Fontana told her that they have released the S2000 room block. Still got the rate, of course. We're in, though.
