I can't figure out what kind of differential oil to use on my 2001 S. I've read three times now that a GL-5 oil will harm the synchro's...so what kind should I use?

Wow nothing has been added to this for over a year lol.

This was helpful for me:

DIY Bucket swap
for those having issues with vibration on acceleration.

Heres from the manual:
SAE 90, GL5 or GL6

Honestly I think its like engine oil.. As long as it's there and clean then you are ok. Ofcourse there is always a preference with this one too. Could be wrong. I just found some off the shelf at a local auto parts store. Also it depends on the application and what not.

I read gl5 but I've also read that it will harm early year 2000's. Idk what's right and I'm fixing to order new fluids for a clutch swap.

Like I said IMO as long as its new clean fluid and its manufacture spec it should be fine . I would still get a second opinion. If all else fails its not incredibly hard to change it out again
