BMW 2002 swap
Crosspost from the original location s2000 under the hood forum
Hi All,
I'm in the midst of swapping in a 2002 AP1 motor/tranny/cluster into my 1974 bmw, and I am hung up on the cluster. I am using a MS3 engine management box to get the motor running, but I can't seem to get power and lights to the cluster.
1-Does anyone have any guidance or write-ups on the cluster tied to power and the engine harness?
2- Does everything need to be "wired" or can we remove things that are no longer needed? We thought the cluster might not fully light up if some wires are not connected..(Ex: since my BMW doesn't have ABS, we wouldn't need to wire the ABS sensor)
3- what is a tell tale sign a cluster is dead/no longer usable? Any particular connector, wire, diode, etc
We have been looking through other swaps where people use the s2000 cluster (AE86, kswap, etc) but are striking out. Any advice, links, articles, schematics or experts to call, would all be much appreciated!
Once completed, I will gladly post photos and video. haha
Thanks
