Default LS transmission options

I was curious if anyone has tried a LS to CD009 swap into our chassis?

Seems like a cheaper options even given the adapter plate/clutch, and possibly a bit smaller of a frame.

Downside might be the gearing, if memory serves me right... first gear is pretty short in these.

Obviously the LS to T56/T56 Magnum/TR6060 platform has been proven as well as TH400 etc

This is the direction I would go. The CD009 is strong and very cheap, even new. Internal and external slave options too IIRC.

which way did you go?

Anyone else go CD009?

I ended up going T56 magnum F from tremec. the shifter hole lines up perfectly. there is a bit of tunnel bashing to do however but I believe you can buy a block off plate for the reverse lockout solenoid which would alleviate a big portion of this. I would recommend the one with the taller first gear option if staying with a 4.10 rear gear though. I don't drag race much but when I did I'm running out of gear at the 1000 foot mark in 4th with the shorter set of gears, however it's perfect for my local time attack track.
one problem with the t56 is finding a way to seal the shifter coming into the cabin, im still working on a way to seal the hurst flat bar so heat doesnt billow into the cabin. but my game plan is to try and find a round hurst boot and retrofit it into the oem plastic retaining ring. will post back if I figure out something that works.
