Charity donations sent !
Hello everybody.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Euromeet charity donations have been made.
On the 12th December we sent a cheque for £5668.00 (Pounds Sterling) to MSF and we also made a bank transfer of £5668.00 to la Protezione Civile Nazionale (L'Aquila earthquake fund).
The donations were accompanied by letters which I have posted below.
I'd like to thank everybody who helped with our fund raising activities both before, during and after the meeting. To raise over £11000 is a fantastic achievement.
I will keep you all updated as soon as we receive any information from MSF and la Protezione Civile Nazionale.
Merry Christmas to you all and a very Happy New Year !

I am writing on behalf of the UK S2000 Owners Club www.s2kuk.com and S2K Club Italia www.s2k.it. Both of these clubs are "associazioni culturali" and were set up by enthusiasts of the Honda S2000 sports car.
2009 is a significant year for the S2000 as the car celebrates its 10th and final year of production. To commemorate this significant event it was decided to organise the largest car rally of S2000s ever seen in Europe. This event was named "Euromeet" and took place in Trentino, Alto-Adige, Italy in April 2009.
The initiative for the event came from Lee Benson of the UK S2000 Owners' Club. Lee worked very closely with S2K Club Italia President Furio Fraccaroli and the UK S2000 Owners' Club Chairman Ian Eygelsheim in collaboration with the various S2000 club heads from the 14 European nations that attended the event.
The Euromeet took 18 months to organise and was a great success. During the weekend 11/12/13 April 2009, 240 S2000 sports cars and over 450 enthusiasts descended on the beautiful town of Levico Terme (TN) to share their passion for their "bolide giapponese". Furio Fraccaroli even appeared on TG Regionale Trentino www.youtube.com/watch?v=F49qmjBg8RY
Along with providing a great event for the S2000 community, it was also Lee's wish that we use this opportunity to raise as much money as possible for a worthy European charity. Through sponsorship, the sale of merchandise and several other activities we were able to raise a significant amount of money. Initially we had chosen MSF (Medici Senza Frontiere) as our sole Euromeet beneficiary, but following the terrible disaster in l'Aquila we took the decision to give half of this money to a charity who could help the earthquake victims of l'Aquila.
On behalf of Lee Benson (Euromeet Organiser), Furio Fraccaroli (President of S2K Club Italia) and Ian Eygelshiem (Chairman of UK S2000 Owners' Club) we would like to present you with the sum of £5668.00 which we transferred directly to your account below on 15th December 2009
IBAN IT72U0300205207000401124180 Swift code BROMITR1708
The entire European S2000 community hopes that the money raised will help the people of l'Aquila to rebuild their lives.
Yours sincerely,
