I'm evaluating an professional opportunity to relocate to the USA in Portland Oregon.

Do you guys have any idea of what kind of process as to be undertaken , what it would cost, or much time importing my 2001 AP1 there from the Netherlands would take ?



All in all is it possible ? Worth it ? And member with past experience in this ?

Also what would have to be changed in order to drive it there ? (lights ... etc)

In short: It's basically impossible to take an EU spec car into the USA...

Only if money is completely no object, forget about it...

how come is that difficult?

To import a US spec car in Germany (lets say a Mustang) it's kinda "easy".. and I cannot imagine the US authorities being more close minded than the german ones

Anyway.. cars in USA are like supercheap.. and additionally the US currency is so weak right now..

So, sell your MY01 and get a new MY08

Yeah just checking the selling price here and the prices over there ... just crossing the ocean I would loose quite a bit ..

So the choice is done !
