2011 SPGP teaser
So we have have had an adventure leading up to this year's event. With an almost entirely new crew to communicate, negotiate and plan with, Shay has come through for us again!!!! That stud is amazing!!!!
IT'S ON!!!!
we do not have the fine details set in stone but we are comfortable saying we will need the same number of attendees as last year - 30 total cars with 16 needed for the two parades (Thursday and Sunday).
Same gig as last year. we have to pay to play. If we want the RV spot and the food and the place to call home base etc, we have to pony up. Those who attended last year said it was the best year yet (minus the rain and cancellation)
we have an RV. Special thanks goes out to Jason (Paha Koira). He is also taking care of all the driving and delivery details....WICKED!!!!
DISCLAIMER: THE PRICE FOR ATTENDING IS NOT FOR THE TICKETS, PARKING PASSES, OR ANY PRODUCTS GIVEN TO YOU BY THE SPGP COMMITTEE....THOSE ARE PROVIDED FOR FREE. THE PRICE IS FOR THE AMENITIES PROVIDED TO YOU BY US PERSONALLY AND FOR THE SPOT ON THE LIST. WE ARE NOT PROFITING FROM THE CONSIDERATIONS OF THE SPGP IN ANY WAY.
Tension breaker, had to be done.......LOL
So here is the deal:
Parade Lappers:
we need 16 people, with open schedules, wanting to be in the two day parade events (thursday afternoon until the evening and all day Sunday) and willing to display SPGP graphics for the few weeks leading up to/during the race, and attend featured events whenever possible We need those people to pay 100.00 dollars each. This will secure your spot on the list and provide you with:
--a pair of tickets for all three days
--yellow parking pass for area 1
--Paddock passes for sat and sun
--probably a hat and shirt,
--food/drinks at the RV
--plus whatever else we can secure for you
Decal Project participants:
we need 14 people, with open schedules, willing to display SPGP graphics for the few weeks leading up to/during the race, and attend featured events whenever possible We need those people to pay 50.00 dollars each. This will secure your spot on the list and provide you with:
--a pair of tickets for all three days
--secured parking passes for the volunteer lot
--food/drinks at the RV
--plus whatever else we can secure for you
I WILL CREATE AND LAUNCH A THREAD IN THE TAMPA FORUM SATURDAY, JANUARY 22ND AT HIGH NOON. THIS THREAD WILL EXPLAIN WHAT I NEED EACH PERSON THAT WANTS TO PARTICIPATE TO DO. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!!!!!!!
It is NOT going to be a matter of who posts "in" first. it is going to be a matter of who gets me the info I need and first.....this info will include SOLID confirmation on when and how payment will be made...
Its a little different each year as far as this part goes and we apologize but we actually have to secure everything much more quickly this year because we were not given the info with any time to spare.
This will be the only thread we make in the main FL forum. All subsequent threads will be in the Tampa forum so look there for official info after Saturday.
Thanks and we hope to provide you guys and gals with another great SPGP race event.
Rob and Shay and the usual crew!!!

It's on like Donkey Kong Biatches!!!
RoB and I have quite the challenge this year. We've had consistent contacts for 3 years straight so no teaching the newbies how we roll. Well...this year I find out a couple months ago we lost our SPGP contact and then Mother F'er I find out this week we've lost our IRL (decal) contact.
Luckily I keep good notes and remember lots of crap so turns out my new IRL contact is the brother of a contact from 4+ years ago. So, nothing going on there just yet but indications with the former guy and I the past few days are positive and we are expected, but not scheduled yet, to have a teleconference next week.
As far as the new SPGP contact I have had numerous email sessions with that group since early December and finally have a teleconference set up for late Tuesday. Indications are good there too thus RoB and my decision to let caution hit the fan and let's roll with what we have. Time is a wasting. Major deal on the RV spot despite huge increases in the street rate. We gotta pay for the spot in a matter of days so keep up with RoB's postings. He's the "Ground Control" in this funny little thing called love so I'll keep up with the St. Pete/Toronto/Indy dealings (yes, we've gone international nowadays!) and RoB will bring the messages to the masses. He da' man.
More ASAP,
Shay

After further review I cant expect payment to be made immediately or that alone to be the determining factor alone so:
It is NOT going to be a matter of who posts "in" first. it is going to be a matter of who gets me the info I need and first.....this info will include SOLID confirmation on when and how payment will be made..
Please keep in mind though that we do need payment exceptionally fast this year because our window is nearly shut on ability to hold and even secure the site. They are making special considerations for us considering the nature of the time lines and the situation that unfolded with the coordination this year.
PLEASE try to get payment to me as fast as possible...we will most likely have to make payment by wed-thursday of next week and we are only getting this information as of today.
You know we will do the best we possibly can for you guys....we just have to roll with the punches this time and see what happens.
