Default 3rd Gear Syncro Replacement

My car has developed a finicky syncro in 3rd gear where I can't shift to 3rd under high rpms (>7500 RPM) without grinding. All other gears are fine and the tranny shifts great (except for 3rd). Is there a place in the Tampa Bay area I can go to have this taken care of?

Don't know if whether or not I should go to a Honda dealer.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I think his paws are too short for him to reach the stick. He also told me that he can't do a heel and toe downshift while driving

Are you still under the warranty (extended)? If so, I'd take it to a dealer first-and have Honda pick up the tab.

It'll be shoot and miss with the dealership. They'll probably try and blame your driving for whatever the problem is or they'll give you some bs reason why they can't go into the tranny.

I have dealt with extended warranty companies with customer's cars and the inspectors will look for a speck of dirt and not warranty anything. On top of that if the inspector sees any aftermarket parts, this gives them ground NOT to warranty the repair. On the last claim I had the company asking if anything was not OEM parts right down to the wheels and stereo. Anything to discredit the repair.

The last transmission we did was this way and the last engine rebuild was the same in the S2K.

Just my $.02

Syncros are like brake pads. They are a wearable item and you will be lucky to get it done under warrant.
