I hope that the inflationary pressures caused by increasing gas prices do tip the economy over the edge towards a recession.

we have waited too long for an alternative fuel sorce. while we should have poored money into searching for one in the last 8 years we didnt. and who pays for that now?

A gallon of milk is still more money.
A gallon of OJ is still more money.
Buying a damn extra large Starbucks latte is still more expensive than buying gas.
You don't want to spend $3 a gallon for gas. Don't buy it. Take a bus, walk, ride a bike, take mass transit, car pool.
^good reading Jim
i look at it this way ... the US will suffer the greatest from the lack of a reasonably priced fuel for transportation. The rest of the world doesn't consume nearly as much and most countries barely enjoy any internally combution powered vehicles ... so they won't have nearly as much trouble reverting back to human powered devices.
it's mostly problematic for americans and some europeans ...
maybe we should focus more on finding a way to rid ourselves of this thing we hold so dear? Is it really that dire for our existence (insert environmental argument of your choice here as well)?
Maybe i should start learning to sail a boat too.

dude we have enough oil out here to last us about a year our biggest problem with that is the pipe lines. so we have to look towards the middle east for our source of oil. id say we would be better off just switching to E80 alcohol which is 80% alcohol and 20% petroleum which like goes for 1.25 a gallon. the only downfall in that is we have to switch to larger injectors and we would have to fill up more often than when using petroleum. but in the end (not being a tree hugger) we can spare the environment and save some money which that year supply of oil here in the states could last over the next 20-30 yrs. so that being said the alcohol comes from most of the crops so the farmers start making some bank so they can buy more land and grow more crops to produce more alcohol and the price could go down from there. but the benefit of using E80 is that it is ecofriendly so everybody is happy (the tree huggers, farmers, HP nuts, and the everyday fuel consumer) which will soon lead to a country hopefully coming out of debt. if none of this means shit to you then just get a sams membership and pay like 30 cents less on gas
