Perhaps, but superfluous means that it serves no useful purpose. Maybe he uses it for something.

On the topic of valve adjustments, I'm not at all familiar with these DOHC setups. When I first learned how to adjust valves (way back when dinosaurs still roamed the planet), I was taught that the engine should be dead cold when adjusting valves. Yet, I've read that this isn't the case with the S2000. Will someone help me into the twenty-first century and explain why?
