Do you guys have any suggestions as of places to visit that would be fun to go to? I will be in town with my Fiance..

Any input is appreciated.

Suggestion number one , leave the S at home in the garage . Orlando loves to seal parts off all types of Hondas . Especially the S

March 9th: Florida's Great Escape Triathlon:

http://www.trifind.com/fl.html

1k swim which is likely to be wetsuit legal and can be a bit brutal if the water temp is in the low 60's to high 50's.
40k bike
10k trail run

This is a qualifier for the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon which starts on the island and has you swim in San Fran Bay to the mainland.

Yeah...the distance was changed last year so it's less crazy. Before it was a 1.5 mile swim, and in March it gets windy and choppy on Lake Louisa with a water temp sometimes as low as 58 degrees (at least that's what it was when I last raced this race). Those conditions can lengthen the swim to the point where could actually take about fifty minutes to almost an hour to complete the swim. That's an odd distance since it is longer than a Half-Iron distance race but shorter than an Iron-distance race. I think that, since there were fatalities in the last two races at St. Anthony's in April, a lot of race organizers are a bit skittish about making the swim too hard in early season races, especially for newbies who haven't raced often.

Whenever I face a race with odd distances like this or exceptionally cold water, I always come back to what my tri coach says about hypoxic drills (drills where you swim long distances without air), "If you feel light headed or are about to lose consciousness, get out of the water." He also says that, "Life is so much more interesting when death is on the line."

If you want Asian food with less of the tourist oriented atmosphere, try eating at Roy's on Sand Lake Road. It's not far from the Disney area and has fabulous food. If you are in the area, you could also try bruch at La Cocquina at the Grand Cyprus. If you are staying at Disney, and since you will be here with you fiancee, make reservations now at Victoria & Albert which some maintain may be the finest dining experience in the state. For country style French cuisine, a definite is Le Coq au Vin on Orange Ave.

Prices are: Roy's $$$$
La Cocquina $$$$
Victoria & ALbert $$$$$$$

If you throw all caution to the wind, you can spend well over $350.00 for dinner for two at Victoria & Albert.

A nice drive might be in Deland to Hontoon Island to see the manatees in the Spring, and you might have some fun taking an airboat ride. There are some charters in Kissimmee, and I know one captain so if you are interested give me a P.M. I will be happy to forward his name to you. You of course could Google this information.

You should also check out the threads if you are going to be in the area, and show up at a meet.
