I'll have a flashlight, 12v air compressor, and a tire plug kit with me. Hopefully no one will need them.

Anyone else running w/o spare or tool kit?

Anyone have a good, compact set of jumper cables? My set is heavy!

I'll also have GPS.

I have my spare in case it is needed. Also bring two way radios! I have no jumper cables.

So are we all set to meet in Ocala at 7:30 on Friday? We should all get gas before we leave Ocala, that way we aren't needing to constantly pull over for one person to get gas. We can just all get gas at once whenever we have to stop. Once we get to Atlanta, we'll play it by ear depending on how much time we have. Either take the scenic route, or straight highway. If we are making good time, maybe we could hook up with the Atlanta group.

Can we get gas and food at the same time and eat on the road?

Looking at mapquest, once we get to Atlanta we can take 19 north to 129 then straight into Alcoa. I think that's how the Hotlanta group will be going. Mapquest says total drive time from Daytona is 11.5 hours.

I'll have a bag of sandwiches/burgers in the passenger seat, and a mini-cooler in the passenger footwell. Hopefully I can time pee breaks with fuel stops.

The drive to Atlanta and on up to 19 will be mostly Interstate, and will go pretty quickly. Once we get into the mountains, and especially 129 it will be 2 lane and a little slow going. If we don't waste a lot of time, we can probably run the Dragon a couple of times before going on to Alcoa. Airgate said we can pick up registration packets Friday night if we get to the hotel late.

I don't mind eating on the fly and combining gas stops with potty breaks. My Son is my co-pilot, and will be doing most of the driving up. I have to pace myself. Its hell getting older.

I have a couple of Motorola 2 way radios as well. I am starting to really get excited. Can't wait till next Friday.

I've got two 2 ways also in case someone forgets theirs. I know Chiung has a couple and I know Justin does, so we should be set.

Okay, no stopping then except for gas/food/bathroom all at once. Don't anyone eat any spicy food the night before, we aren't going to pull over for you to go to the restroom! Justin, no hurling the night before either!

I've been excited, but now it's just getting worse! I even bought a new digital camera for the event! Does anyone have an in car camera mount and video camera so we can get some video?

My wife will be the co-pilot up. I'll let her drive to Atlanta, then it's my turn!

We need to pick a meeting spot in Ocala. There is a McDonalds just East of I-75 and State Road 40. There is also a RaceTrac gas station next to it. We could meet at either at 7:30AM. Some may want to grab a bite to eat. How does that sound?

Sounds good. I could to McD's for breakfast. Let's meet there. Gas up first, then meet at Micky's.

Anyone know if we should take 75 straight thru Atlanta, or take 285 around Atlanta? We will probably be hitting Atlanta around rush hour, and getting stuck in their traffic would not be fun. I'll post the question on the Dragon thread and hopefully some Atlantan's can give some tips.

Yeah, those motorcycle guys scare me. They pass on blind curves!

Looks like we are going to have good weather!

Thursday through Sunday
Mostly clear. Lows 53 to 58 and highs 76 to 81.

If it stays that way, it'll be perfect!
