You have no idea how to handle a situation like this so you want other people to help? Just call the cops if you think im doing the wrong thing! Your so full of it man grow up this is just making look like a 12 year old you have no idea how to handle problems.
1. how was this thing packed??....could it have been damaged in shipping? that dent looks like a corner strike from being thrown around.
2. if this thing has insurance on it, file a claim and be done with it.
3. why are you airing out your dirty laundry here? there is nothing we can do and so far it looks like a simple damage claim with whomever shipped it.
keep it in PM. you both are adults. why is this being made so complicated?

after reading that whole thread it seems obvious that Manny needs to file the insurance claim and then refund the money to Joe.
I don't know the logistics involved but it seems the longer you wait the less relevance you are going to have to the claim.
I know for a fact that packaging needs to be great and proper documentation has to be clearly laid out for an insurance claim. Manny may have to seek reimbursement from the company that packed his cover to ship to Joe.
IMHO, all signs point to Manny having to deal with this one way or another to make it right. I would never trust a third party to pack my parts or anything I sell and I document my packing for anything over 50.00. Manny took risks and now it bit him in the ass he needs to step up and get this dealt with. Sellers have to deal with stuff like this, it happens. you paid for the insurance Manny, USE IT.

This thread is so full of fail. After reading the other thread I have to side with Manny on this one minus the fact that his only fault was not packing it himself. . Honestly that looks to me like you may have dropped it upon receiving and opening the package. To resort to staring numerous threads about the subject is just ignorant. i paid for a valve cover that i specifically asked if it was in good shape with no cracks and thats what i bought. I ended up with one that came to me with damage on it. it may have been shipping or for all i know he sent it that way but thats not what i paid for.
i even offered to ship the damn thing back on my dime after i got a refund. He said the damage isn't bad and his valve cover has the same damage. if its no big deal he can have this back and resell it
tell your buddy to man up and issue my refund. If he doesn't paypal or my cc will
its very clear what needs to happen. Joe, if Manny does not make a claim and get insurance to reimburse his refund to you, you have to dispute the charge on your CC...its that simple.
Why wont Manny simply file a claim and issue a refund???? Stuff like this type of damage happens all the time in shipping. If Manny let some third party pack his part, that is his fault. If he files a claim and they deny him on grounds of faulty packing, that's his fault. Take it up with the company that packed it...
pissing in each other cheerios is not going to solve anything....
IMHO, if Manny does not sack up and makes this right, the backlash will resides on his character.
Manny, do the right thing: Refund Joe the money once you get the cover back from him....File the claim and do whatever the shipping company tells you to do.....and MOVE ON once you get your insurance money.
This is the cost of doing business online and keeping a good rep....sometimes you have to go the extra 5 miles for people.
I don't have 100% positive feedback on eBay because i tell people to take a flying leap when they have problems with my products....just saying
