August 11th Sebring track date selling out
Just an FYI..
Novice slots for the August 11th track day at Sebring are sold out. If anyone is interested in driving and has no prior track experience, get on the waiting list ASAP. Typically we are able to take 2-3 people off the list so don't wait.
Go to www.ChinMotorsports.com.
If you already HAVE track experience and can drive solo, the solo slots at the event should sell out in the next three weeks.
We have added an event....Sunday Aug.18th at Atlanta Motor Speedway using the 2.5 mile road course AND the high-speed oval.

Hi Jackie,
Register now for Homestead - it will fill up quickly......
As for the August 11th at Sebring - you need long pants and long sleeved shirt, helmet (which we can provide-even a petite one
), and if you want to ride in one of the vehicles it is $20 and you must sign a waiver. You will receive an armband which allows you to ride in any solo or instructors car at any time that day.
i'm sure that Wei-Shen, myself or one of our other members would be more than happy to show you around the track.
See you at Sebring - off to Roebling this weekend..

*lol* Thanks guys. When I race at Moroso, I try to drive barefoot if I can get away with it. I think its taboo to wear heels to the track anyway, you just get them dirty and stuff. NOT the place to be a priss. I will definitely be registering for the Homestead event, but is there any way that I can send a check or money order for the fee to register? I have cut up all my cc's, they got me in too much hot water. Count me in for Sebring, do I pay in advance or when I get there?

Deb used to have a Fiat that some wiring melted under the dash and burned the top of her barefoot. Not wize to drive without protection

Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me what kind of tire wear to expect as a 1st time novice? My car is basically stock, but will I shread the tires to the point where I'll need to replace them soon? Any Idea how many track events I can do on the stock S02's? 'cause I'm signed up for Sebring and Homestead.
Also, do the instructors help with things like braking/downshifting for corner entry? That's one thing I'm just not all that smooth at. Is there a set schedule of things they teach at the same time to all the Novice drivers, or can we (me and instructor) work on my weak points specifically? Thanks!!!

jared,
For any car on the track your tires will last as long as your driving style permits. If you are trail braking or drifting, you are going to wear the tires down quicker. I would guess if the tires are new, you should get two events out of them. My first NSX on Michelin Pilots got 3-4 events, my supercharged NSX got a 2 day event and it was over, tires were slick.
As for the instructors, there are basic performance driving skills that they are required to instruct. Driving a proper line and downshifting for corner entry and up shifting for exit is a big part of the learning curve. You can bet they are going to spend time with you on that. We also try to match up students who instructors who drive similar vehicles, to better match the performance of both driver and car. Your instructor will be sitting next to you communicating through earpieces the entire day. You will have two classroom sessions to discuss what is going right and wrong on the track.
See you at the track.
