B16 swap help

B16 swap help
I posted a question a while back with starting problems on a swap I did.. its still not starting... the main relay is fine.. out of ideas need help as soon as possible...

nope ... coil is different. The ignitor is what regulates the charge. The coil stores the charge. But either one could be bad and keep it from running.
keep in mind that the ignitor is different for most Honda cars. Only a few are cross-compatible. I think the D15z was the one that shared the same ignitor as the B16a. Don't quote me on that.
Seriously though ... go check out the Honda-Tech forums. Incredible knowledge base there. If i can dig up Kenji's number i'll give him a call and see what he thinks.

all i know is the car ran with its previous swap (d16) and now wont start with the new motor.... heresnowhy i pm'ed you and would much appricate your help and whomever elses help thanks again

Well, I do remember having to switch out a small device that I was told was the 'ignitor' and it was not part of the internal coil inside the distributor. I can see why IGNITION control module may have been stated as the ignitor.
Whatever it's called ... it was known to be a common failing piece on the Honda motors ... especially with aftermarket ignition systems like MSD and Jacobs.

My suggestion is to find a known working distributor and switch it out. That will eliminate several known issues with electronics at that point.
