Default Base line dyno today ..

Went to go see mase today at Stage 6 to get a new base line on my car

I was surprised with the results ...

Before in Nov at the Jax dyno day my had just a V2 AEM intake..

196.1hp this was with two big fans and it was sitting for a couple hours.

Well i sold the V2 and put my stock airbox back in with the paper cone..

So today Feb 8 after the 20 min drive and letting it sit for 10 mins we put it on the dyno. With the climate being almost the same about 68 degrees

we put in the correction factor and we did 3 pulls this time with only one small fan.

3rd pull i put down 197.6 hp. Running richer than i did before..

The question is does the AEM V2 really make more power than the stock airbox? On my car i say NO.. this is also being debated on another members car who somehow lost 10hp .

i will post up the before and after sheets tonight.. i just wanted to share this with everyone because its very interesting...

Very intriguing. Hmm. A pull with the V2 on and a pull after on the same day with the stock airbox will clear this mess up.

3 years ago I dynoed 188-189 with modified HKS dual exhaust and a WeaponR hot air intake

the next year I dynoed 196-197 with Aem V2 and Invidia exhaust.

neither exhaust would have produced a again (actually they both would have produced a loss from stock, just a matter of which one lost more) and this was before any of my engine rebuilds so.......

Yes.
Well I guess we don't have to debate this anymore......next topic......

no seriously I am very curious because its hard to resist upgrading the intake since it makes your engine bay look so different....but if it doesn't do anything but sound different I might just do the gutted airbox mod......

The AEM V2 will definitely make power... if not on a dyno at the peak, it definitely made power in the midrange...

Don't forget how much more and cooler air will get to the filter at speed in the front bumper compared to the stock airbox...

At the very least, I loved how easy having an AEM made changing my own oil! It was SWEEEEEET!

I didn't read your post, but the two pictures in your sig don't belong next to each other.
