bird droppings prompt warning

As we discussed in the Orlando meet: bird droppings are wreaking all kinds of havoc in the City Beautiful. Lucky for us we were in the BPSZ (Bird Poop Safety Zone) of New Smyrna Beach.

This car looks worse in real life. It's one of the most disturbing things i have seen. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" There is no way this was natural. When I saw the car you could barely tell what color it once was.
BTW, DO NOT lightly spray and try to wipe off Pelican/seagull poop.
A couple of years ago I took Sandy to the Don Cesar for the night. She grew up in the area but had never stayed there. That night we decided to walk up the street to one of her old hangouts and for some reason I decided to check on the S. I guess I knew my baby was fugged. The hood was blanketed in poop!!! White on black - beddy nice!
As is half normal with me I had some cleaning supplies in the trunk including stuff to remove bugs/bird poop, towels, etc. We proceeded to spray the hood area down and wipe the crap up. Mind you this is probably 8 or 9 at night so it's plenty dark.
The next day as we're packing up the car to leave I see scratches and swirl marks all over my hood. Not beddy happy now. I never thought but should have known that poop of that magnitude would have some grit to it be it ground up shells, sand, whatever.
We go back to her folks house, pull the car in the garage after washing it and I start buffing like a mother you know whatter (Porter Cable, etc - yes my mother-in-law is a detail fanatic now too). I got some of the mild stuff out but much of it was deep. I figured I was screwed and would have to get it repainted. Turns out a local shop buffed the stew out of it and basically it looked brand new once they were done.
So...if you get mega nailed be careful and do an actual car washing or something vs. what I did. Live and learn.
