BMW admired the S2000's (and NSX's) electric steering so much they incorporated it into the Z4.

I'll bet it was stock. A stock S2000 is good for 240HP and is much lighter. R&T measured 0-60 in about 5.0 sec. So it should beat your 330 handily. And the way it beat you reflects its' power delivery. Nothing at the bottom, explosive at the top. Great for the race track, and a pain on the street. Be thankful you don't own one.

 

I just can't believe the bashing of the S2000 as being a miserable daily driver. I arrive at work every day with a ridiculous grin plastered on my face.
