I went outside and was looking at the bumper and noticed that all the foam behind the bumper is smashed. I would think that they would have to replace the whole bumper. The trunk is also dented and the tail light is cracked.

And what sort of "improper drive way exit" was it?

I would prefer my ins. company knew the story before the other insurance company twisted the story around.
uh....can't twist the facts dude. This sort of thing doesn't happen.

the only "twisting" is what their insured tells them, but it's easy to overcome this.

It's hilarious to me how everyone buys insurance but as soon as they make a claim, the carrier they trusted all along becomes their complete enemy. Gimme a break.

The purpose of insurance is to put you where you were before the loss occurred. You are not to profit from a claim.

Your insurance company is ethically and legally obligated to pay claims they owe based on policy coverage, and to use all information available to them to determine the facts of the loss. IF Joe says X plowed into the side of his car while he was stopped, but the police report says he ran a red light, and 2 witnesses and X all say Joe had the red light, his insurance ocmpany is going to be responsible. They're not going to fight it like most people think.

The sooner you guys get these ideas of insurance companies "trying to screw you" out of your heads, the better off you'll be. I don't like it when people are pissy and assholes with me right off the bat, before even knowing what the process is and who I am.

I guess we can thank all those commercials for personal injury criminals, err, attorneys. "Don't let an insurance company tell you what you deserve"......No? Well don't let a lawyer tell you either, because he's going to end up getting you way less, AND THEN taking at least 20%! Plus it'll take over a year longer to settle, rofl.

[QUOTE=Willie Gee,Jul 10 2008, 12:51 PM] The problem with calling your insurance company is that when you file a claim with them your rates go up, and you have to pay your deductible.

Should I go ahead and get a rental even though I have another vehicle to drive?
