Be carefull with knives
I was using a lab knife carving up some denture teeth at work and I must have been pretty careless with my grip. Long story short I stabbed myself in the left hand something fierce!!! I stuck it in over an inch and a half in my left palm right in the large thumb muscle so deep it almost came through the other side. I luckily narrowly missed my main artery and tendon. Since I use both hands at work I'll be out of commission for a while. I have a picture of it after it was sutured up if anybody is curious or wants to post the pic just P.M. me your e-mail.
sounds very painfull. I have had serious puncture or two. you will loose alot of mobility and use for a few days due to inflamation and soreness. get medical attention and keep the wound as clean as possible.
LAB KNIFE = EQUALS SCAPEL QUALITY BLADE??? hopefully the injury was as cleanly made as possible.
Godd luck and PM pics if you have them. I am an injury whore LOL

Keep your spirits up and take care of it. it will get better. I am recovering from minor surgery right now so we can swap pain medication stories

No, the blade was filthy and covered in plaster and had a very sharp edge only along the bottom edge. Think of something like a paring knife. Blade about two inches long and about one inch wide. It has a curved semi-blunt point. Kinda like a parrot beaked short butter knife with a razor-like edge only on the bottom. NICE! It was very painful and bled A LOT!!! I got light headed and turned three shades of green and white.
Heal-up my man!

I forgot to mention how my fat pad started squirting out. It looked like yellow, bumpy chicken fat oozing from my wound. The tetanus shot made my whole shoulder stiff for 2 days . The Penicillin shot in my butt made my butt cheek sore and lumpy for about a day. The 3 million shots of anesthetic to numb my before suturing hurt like hell and I could still halfway feel them doing all of the internal and external sutures. I'm taking a strong oral antibiotic called "Keflex" which gives me sudden projectile diarrhea with cramping. On top of that the pain medication they gave me (Propoxyphene) doesn't begin to help my sharp burning pain and throbbing. It just makes me sleepy and constipated. From now on I am gonna be very carefull around anything sharp.
Anybody want to post the pic? P.M. me your e-mail.
what a beautiful situation you describe
