Default Clutch Answers.

I might be in the market for a new clutch and would like to use some of your experience in my clutch shopping. I know next to nothing about clutches. I don't plan on going FI any time soon. Your opinions/advice is wanted. Thanks again. James.

I was looking at this clutch and flywheel. The stage 1 http://automotivespeed.com/index.php?cPath=23_28

Competition Clutch...Chris Jewel the owner has been into clutches forever. He started Clutchmasters and several other companies, then sells them and starts new ones with newer technology.

Good clutch then. I won't know if that is the problem until I can look at it.

im in the same boat. im going with the act pressure plate and organic disk. todd and rick at 2nrwerks also agree its a good combo for street use. if you have any questions on clutches and flywheels, call 2nrwerks. PM 2nrwerks or 2nrwrench. good luck

If you pull the trany you may as well put in a clutch. The clutch master is a nice clutch The Comptech steel flywheel is also a good choice
Good luck

-fish install a lightweight flywheel when you're in there. It will help your engine spin faster. Comptech is a good choice.

A mechanic buddy from church is going to help me pull the tranny on Tuesday and we are going to figure out what the problem is. I will let everyone know what the problem was and I'll take some pictures. Hopefully the S will be able to come out and play soon.

I just read the DIY in the UTH forum. Very good write up with a good list of req'd tools. I am going to print it out, along with the service manual directions. My friend that is helping me, or rather me helping him has all the tools I could ever dream of. Luckily, I don't have to be at work until the 15th.

Bump for reasons why some clutches may be better than others and why.
