Comptech S/C problem... PROBLEM IDENTIFIED!
EDIT: Scroll Down for pics...
I already posted in F/I, but I know some of you in here don't check that forum... (Mods please leave this open)
My F/I Forum Thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=554309
I was driving home last night, and all of a sudden my Godzilla BOV (which is usually making a lot of noise off throttle) is suddenly quiet...
If you've heard one before, you'd definitely realize when it wasn't working
I felt around the BOV, and there wasn't anything stuck inside it or blocking the sound/air...
Right now, I still feel like the S/C is working fine (feels more powerful than stock atleast), but when I go off-throttle it sounds like a "rubbery" or "turkey-gobble" sound??? (I obviously made that up, haha)
Any ideas on what may have happened?
Anyone have any input on what I should check?
I'm not really an expert on Vacuum lines or BOV's but I'm going to try and figure this out...
I checked my S/C belt, and it is tight.
I am able to spin the Godzilla BOV back and forth, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be able to move around like that...
I suppose that means that it might not be sealed well on the aftercooler. So that's on theory.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Also, I don't have the stock Comptech Air Bypass Valve that connects under the air intake tube-- So I'm not sure if I can connect that open flange to the aftercooler if I take off the Godzilla??
Thanks,
Matt

spring might be stuck... open it up and clean it
It seems as though it's worked it's way loose... A friend thinks that the diaphragm may be shot?
The lazy thing would be to buy a new one $$$, but I'll take it off tomorrow... too cold tonight!

After taking apart the BOV, this is what I found...
There is a tear in the gasket (diaphragm?) inside the top hat.

I have attempted to seal the tear using aquaseal (rubber repair glue and sealant used to fix wetsuits, rafts, etc....

Hopefully this will hold until I can replace the gasket.
