The meet is on hold but, the SPGP is a go

this is the parade and lap around the track

If you do the decal only (your car gets the decals) you get to go to the event but, you don't do the lap

The SPGP is a race event and the promoters of the event approached our community 6 years ago to possibly provide the cars needed to shuttle around race VIP and drivers for a parade befor the main event. we jumped on it like white on rice....LOL

Since then, the event has grown to now include 2 parades on different nights. And we all gather at the race for a weekend of grillin and chillin.

About 4 years ago we came up with a marketing campaign to draw attention to the race that involves decals on our cars for the weeks leading up to the race day to serve as rolling billboards of sorts.

Since then, the event has become one of the "main attractions" each year for the florida community. Last year's open enrollment was completed in 37 seconds for the parade lap and less than 2 minutes for the decal program.

The reason you are probably noticing a lot of confusion is we had to move very fast and shut down the main fund raising event for the SPGP which is the mega/winter/whatever you want to call it meet. This happened because of a series of unfortunate events involving booking and scheduling.

That development then caused the actual SPGP event sign up and funding to be forced into crisis mode and the result is the "all of a sudden" call to action for the SPGP and literally nothing regarding the megameet.

we assure all of you that we are working on replanning the megameet. It will be a great event.

Our continued apologies for all of this confusion and approaching all of you in such an alien way regarding these turn of events.

Good post Rob. This will be my 3rd SPGP and 2nd time in the parade. Regardless I urge everyone and anyone to sign up for this.(Unless you drive like a tool. We don't need anymore incidents.) You will not be disappointed it's like the supermeet/megawhatever on a smaller scale. But with free race tickets! Food and beverage flows and it's a real good experiance for the price of nothing but decalling your car and driving it around to promote the event.

And Rob is numero uno why I keep being frontman of this crazy event each year. Well said, as always.
