A quote from the great TIDALDAVE....."Our local Forum is about the people".

That said, "RESPECT" is priority #1. While all of the other segments contained within the entire S2KI site are available and necessary concerning the cars themselves, what constitutes our warm and fuzzy feeling is the mutual feeling of respect for personal decision. That is why there is both Chocolate and Vanilla, neither is better, just different flavors for different folks.

And just for brownie points, I believe that the CO's of the Florida Forum do a "dadgum" good job and keeping the level where it needs to be. Friendly, competitive trash talk is always fun and incites even the quite, conservative introverts to giggle and get involved. But, all should feel welcome. You guys do a great job in balancing this task.
Things must really have gone downhill if we are quoting and referring to him as "the great TIDALDAVE".

I used to post alot more throughout the site. Believe it or not, I was an Electronics Junkie to the tee, now I hardly visit that section. It's not because that forum went downhill, it's because I was tired of answering the same questions over and over and I became fascinated with other aspects of my car, namely handling and improving my driving skills.

Over the years the site has changed flavor, and the pendulum will swing again. It's never been perfect, so I think that many who pine for the good ol' days are really just fooling themselves. Maybe those days were before my time, but more often than not the good ol' days refers to a time and perspective from your eyes and not an unbiased view of the way things really were. We romanticize the past to a great deal. That is not to say the site hasn't changed, it surely has. But many of our new members, esp the Florida folks are a great bunch of guys and gals who simply share a common love for the S2K. I embrace the new members and do everything I can to ensure a mutually respectful and beneficial relationship.

Some of my best friends I met through S2Ki and I wouldn't shun anyone just because they are new and ask a "dumb" question. It irratates me when people do, that's when they simply need to click on and move to another thread. Flaming Newbies is just too easy and it doesn't help anything. It just makes you look like a jerk.

But this never/rarely happens in the Florida Forum, and i am thankful for that. It's really easy being a CO here because I am blessed with a bunch of great guys and gals.

Thanks!

I will not tolerate this kind of ass-kissing. Flattery will get you nowhere.

The cycle thing is right. We lost a lot of good members due to the level of crap that had been going on. Idiots abound on all froums as with life.

I don't post much on other forums because of it.
