Dean ... :(
I know many of you may not have been fortunate enough to meet 'dean'. He owned an S2000 up until 4 years ago and only sold it due to pain/medical issues. He switched to a Mini Cooper S but unfortunately his medical condition ailments worsened to the point where he could hardly drive at all.
He continued to be a contributing S2ki.com alumni and held the rank of Community Organizer in the Vintage forum. His intellect combined with his exceptionally dry humor was amazingly entertaining by many.
I am saddened to say that 'dean', my good friend, passed away this morning. He is survived by his wife, Rori, who is one of the strongest and most beautifully charming persons I've ever met.
I will be updating this thread (https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/1121850-dean/) in the Vintage forum for anyone interested in the Funeral service.

Wow.......this is so sad. Dean was a founding father and a great "relic" to the Florida Forums. He was the only guy that I could talk Zappa and Captain Beefheart to. Truely a class act. Smart, witty, intelligent, balanced and always sought a "no-drama" attitude. Wished I had spent more time with him. Lesson learned.
Thanks for the all the kind words and best wishes. I will forward them on to Rori.
I can say that I've never met anyone quite like Dean. He was exceptionally intelligent in both practical knowledge as well as taught at traditionally accredited venues (he was a college professor of Bio-sciences at several universities including Texas A&M.)
But, his ability to interlace humor within that brilliance is what created a unique form of 'wit.' You could say/write something that had some strangely incorrect product within it ... and Dean would call it out to you ... in a way even you would have to laugh at yourself.
It was beautiful to watch especially online.
I hope you all have a chance to go to the Vintage forum and read the thread started by 'tof' on Dean-isms. It is but a brief amount of what Dean was like everyday.
I don't want to be a 'debbie-downer' but, my last 10 months has been unfathomably filled with the death and illnesses of my friends and family of all ages. I hope you all have the chance to relish in the lives of good people ... even though that makes their passing that much more difficult. In times like these I just try to embrace the phrase "without shadow ... there is no light"
Carry on my friends
