I've posted threads about THE BUCS and meets, but does anyone feel as bad as me about The Columbia? I've been feeling like crying all day . I tried to go the the parades today, but in the back (front really) of my mind I thought about the tragedy .

It really sucks!
I watched the Challenger accident in 86 with my eyes from about forty miles from the launch pad and This morning I was washing the car before our meet in St Augustine when I heard the news on the radio and couldn't believe it - I have followed the space program all of my life and even know a couple of astronauts that have been on missions. Today rekindled memories that were 17 years old that I wish I never had to feel again!
My prayers and thoughts go out to everyone, Not just family because it sucks for everyone!

Just two weeks ago, I climbed on the roof of where I work to get a better view of the launch, being that I live and work only about 10 miles from the Cape. It was such a great day and a beautiful launch. Boy, little did I know what was to come. I feel sunk...

Jay Barbree, a national news commentator who has covered every one of the 144 manned launches, implied that this launch was among the smoothest and occurred on one of the most beautiful of occasions. No one could have imagined that in would end in such a tragic way.

Let's include the astronauts' loved ones in our prayers, and pray for a safe return of those still on the space station.

May they rest in peace, and be safely "home". God protect their families as this is a very hard thing they are all going through. They will be greatly missed, they are our true American and Isrealie Heroes! Sad thing is, this is another stab into the heart of America!

I woke up yesterday like any other Saturday morning... Watched the local news for 10 minutes after 9am, seemed to be a normal day. I logged on to msn.com around 11am reading the headline "Space Shuttle Explodes Over Texas." At first it didn't register for a split second, I went on to ESPN.com and suddenly it hit. I go back and reread the headline... and my heart just sunk.

As a little boy I followed the US space program with great interest. I remember in 1986, sitting at school during lunch viewing the Challenger launch and witnessing the tragedy on live tv. This will be one of those "life events" that no one ever forgets.

May the seven souls of Columbia find peace and warth in God's house.

God Speed to them.
