i dont know how many of you have kept up with travis' story and whats going on in cali right now so for those who havent...

travis hunt was a moderater in socal until he died in a car wreck sunday april 2nd.

for those who keep up with the s2ki homepage...you saw the initial sad story and hopefully now are reading the second touching story. theyre hosting a barbeque in his honor to raise money for his wife and two children.

the turnout for this event is going to be AMAZING. over 150 cars in attendance so far. companies donating things for a raffle. s2ki members offering $1 for every person that comes...its PHENOMENAL. its absolutely amazing how much this man meant to this community and to s2ki. people who have just joined and never met travis are going to give their donations and offer their support.

that brings me to the point of this post...

obviously being completely across the country, we cant very well go and show our support for travis and wendy and his girls but i know there has to be something we can do.

whether it be donations or whatever...i think it would be neat for us to get our heads (and possibly moneys) together and make a collective 'florida s2k' donation to show that were thinking of them all the way over here too.

for me...if i were wendy (his wife) it would be such a comfort to me to get a check (no matter the amount) from people in florida thousands of miles away showing their concern.

so lets see what yall think...

I was just gonna send a check myself, but I think something organized would be better!

If we could get say 50-100 of us Florida S2ki'ers together... we could raise quite a bit of money...

So what do you say guys?

I'm not good with setting up paypal, etc... but we need to do this FAST...

yall help me out with this. this, despite the circumstances, is such an awesome way to show how we can band together and that were here for our fellows s2ki brothers and sisters no matter the distance.

On something like this, I think it's best if one of our CO's (or someone that they ask to be the collection person) handle this, especially as far as PAYPAL/cash/check/credit card donations are concerned. There should be a paper trail for all the monies received etc.

I've done this before and speaking from my experience, it can be an awful lot to keep track of.
