Drive For Dreams Car Rally
Please find the following link on Automotive Addicts that provides information on the April 3rd Car Rally, Drive for Dreams, which supports the Dreams Come True Foundation for sick kids - an extremely worthy cause in my humble opinion.
I participated last year and had a great time. AA has done a great job providing some pictures from the prior event. We are talking full police escort for the drive. You know the ones that tick us off if we're out trying to get somewhere? Well now you're in the rally. Roads, exits, intersections, everything gets blocked off the entire route so we can all stick together. The best addition to the 2011 is the endurance kart race at the end. Not sure of the specifics but something about 3-man teams, we are all guaranteed a certain about of seat time which I THINK was 2, maybe 3, 15-minute sessions, but then it gets into heats and of course the longer you last the more you'll be driving. The food and goodie back were awesome so I'm sure that will be the case again.
So, I'm planning on attending along with several other buds of various makes and models so I wanted to make sure the S2000 community heard about it. They're planning on 40 cars but can manage up to 60 from what I understand. Please remember I am NOT the organizer here. I'll be a participant just like yourselves. I'm just helping to spread the word since I know some of the people involved and know first hand the impact this foundation has had in the lives of families.
All the best,
Shay
