Thumbs up Dynamat

After having my subwoofer in the trunk for some time now it has begun to rattle. Has anyone out there dynamated their trunk before? If so did you have any issues getting your trunk carpeting to fit back in? Lastly where would be a good place in the tampa area to get Dynamat or similar material at a cheap price?

I put in my 1st S2k, the "Be-Quiet" membrane (foil-faced). A similiar product but supposedly a much better offering for Car Audio extremists. The drone from the Spugen Dual was killing me. It did decrease the db's about 15 points. I did the install myself and the carpet went in just fine. I did have to buy this direct, on-line.

it looks like they are sold in 18"x32" sheets, how many of them did you need? did you do the trunk lid as well?

Dynamat is heavy but it works. there are some paint/spray on (quiet car and a few others) they are harder to install, take alot more prep work, but they work better and are much lighter.

and if your crazy like me, you can do this
interior project

the spray looks much easier to install, but it doesn't look like it would work as well as a dynamat type of material. have you ever compared the two types to see what the difference is? i have one JL 12w3 so it causes a significant amount of rattling.

the spray on stuff is a better product in most cases. it's jsut a lot more work to install and you need a compressor and possible a special paint gun

the stuff I used came in a 5 gallon bucket. I brushed the S2000, I'll spray the element.

I did all interior panels. The entire door skins, the trunk, the rear tire area, the wierd area where the gas tank tubing is, behind the seats cavity where I installed 5.25" speakers, the entire floor board, etc.....

I wish I could remember how many sheets but I used all of them.....
