Default Dyno Proven mods?

Looking to add 20whp in a cost effective, reliable way. I know enough of you guys have done it and dynoed the car, so let me know. I want to avoid the SC/Turbo route, and I know head work w/ems will do it but I'm looking at $3k.

I also want opinions on final drive gears, I hear you can have them bought and installed for $1k and gain .5 seconds in the quater????

This is my first dyno run back in 2004. The car was more or less stock with only a test pipe and drop in air filter. If you take off say, 6 Hp. for this you will have a good number for a bone stock S2000.

This is a run I did on the same dyno a year latter but, with a bad mod setup.

It shows a Hp. loss I have since removed these mods and redid the car with some of my own made mods like, the air induction system I made, a better exhaust, and a great tune on a VAFCII.

I am now at 212 Hp. and 140 Tq. the power is as smooth as glass
I will get a pic of this dyno run up soon

In the nutshell I went from "stock" 187 Hp./126 Tq. To 212 Hp. / 140 Tq. A gain of 25 Hp. and 14 Ft. Lbs. of Tq. Not bad with bolt on's

List of mods that are related to this gain are:
1 PuddyMod intake unknown price
2 Apexi VAFCII with tune about $400.00 new
3 Megan race header $300.00 new
4 T1R 70 mm exhaust $700.00 used

Really need to price that puddy mod to sell it.

Get the 4.56s and some puddy stuff whatever you do dyno before and after to be sure.

The PuddyMod CAI is still under R&D.

Jeff is right, get a bace run and dyno before and after on the same dyno. This will give you your best info on each mod you do.

Yeah...20hp is pretty tough...but good luck with that (see the JDM forum in s2ki...it really should be named the NA Tuning Forum instead). If I were spending $3k and looking for quicker acceleration (not just hp bragging rights), I'd do this:

1) 4.56 gears (installed with yellow box for speedo correction = $1600)
2) eBay Spoon-knock off snorkle (fiberglass = $100)
3) gut airbox (free)
4) VAFC tuned (used off eBay VAFC II = $200; Boomslang PnP harness = $150; tuning = $200)
5) T1R 63mm v2 single header back (includes TP)...call to see if A&J Racing will honor their last group buy price = $825

total= $3075

^^some very good suggestions. man i cant wait to see how honda is going to add more NA horsepower to that CR. I think it would be safe that they can add 30-35hp since us street guys can add about 20.

I dynoed year 1 with my car and had a weapon R intake and HKS exhaust with the rear resonator removed my best pull was 189 hp

year 2 I had AEM V2 CAI with the Invidia dual exhaust and my best pull was 196. so I gained 7 hp between the two setups

side note: the first setup was probably manifesting a loss to begin with becasue of the lack of back-pressure from the exhaust and the "hot-air" weapon R intake
