Default Finally caved and got some boost!

TRD supercharger: I just got my car back from the shop yesterday. It took 3 weeks for 2 Toyota dealerships to figure out how to get it right. The biggest hold up was an ECU reflash that had to be sent away. I would have liked to install it myself in one day but..... it carries the full factory warrranty if it is dealer installed. They rate it at only 40-50 hp increase but that is severely underrated. I've seen many dyno's ranging from 200-225 at the wheels. Stock TC's are rated 160/160 at the flywheel. Do the math. It is a shaft driven Vortech Centrifugal supercharger with a TRD stamp on it and it runs at 7psi. It is Vortech's newest blower design with helical cut gears and repitched impellers for whisper quiet operation. It comes on strong at around 2800 rpms and pulls like a train all the way to redline wanting more and more with sooooo much usable power. And.....it's an automatic so nailing the gas for passing is an absolute riot!!!! I may not be the fastest kid on the block but let me assure you that this is a serious sleeper.

To much I use to be a manager up there at clearwater...
I have been waiting for someone to install one good job...
Cant wait to see it on the road...

One of the things that suck is when you buy your car you can put any upgrade you want but the super-charger... I dont know why they will not let you finance it with the deal...

Sweet Im tryin to convince my girl to let me put one of those on her TC! How much did the dealer charger you for everything installed?
$2600 for the S/C online, $750 installed. It's well worth the price to keep the warranty.

It feels a bit faster overall than the Turbo bug for sure. My Bug dyno'd 175hp and 207 TQ. All that power was down low and midrange then it fell flat in the top end. The Tc has better power in the midrange and top end similar in feel to the S2000. I have had the car back for a whole day and a half and already the supercharger is making a louder pitch whine and slight louder than normal rattle at idle. My oil light is off and on with full oil in the engine and the car has lost all power to speak of. Of couse it's the weekend and it will back in the shop Monday for god knows how long again I don't know if the oil return got clogged and burned up the charger or the bearings are shot or what but it's definately aggrevating the hell out of me right now. Bummer for Me. That's my kind of luck lately.
