Default First Mechanical Failure

Wow...gotta hand it to Honda. My car has taken a beating over my 5+ years of ownership. I knew something would fail at some point but am so impressed it's been 70,000 miles before something broke.

My belt auto tensioner started rattling like a pissed diamond-back yesterday. What's impressive is the belt still looks like it's in great shape.

Looks like it's a pretty easy fix thank goodness. But, bad thing is that unless I get the parts by Friday, I may not race at GIR on Sunday.

Impressive! It shouldn't be too bad of an install though.

Don't ya mean Reynolds Park, not GIR for Sunday? Unless you know something I am unaware of...

Hope to see ya out there! Now that I think about it...ordering rear tires tonight...

Wow, haven't checked the central region's schedule in a while. Now I may just have to attend the GIR event instead.

That sucks! I keep my tools with me, if the car will make it to the track, we can swap tensioners in the grid...I usually don't get to run with AS anyway...

You're still doing the dyno, right? If your parts arent in by then, you can use mine then too...

I hope you know you have to back the tensioner in and pin it before you put it back in right?

It sure can wear your thumb out.

Yea, I've had to do it about a dozen times on my car since the ITB's, getting to stupid coolant lines and stuff. I've figured out the little tricks to doing it fast and right

I ordered from Majestic Honda. Decent prices and on the east coast, so shipping is a bit quicker.

I'll do the dyno day no matter what...it will survive 3 blasts to 9K. And even if it fails completely, I can get it towed home. Just don't want to get stranded in G'ville or in parts inbetween.
