Default Florida S2000 Owners...

So I got my registration renewal in the mail today and couldn't help but notice something.

In the state of Florida you pay by vehicle weight. My 2009 Honda Fit is correctly listed at 2550LBS. However my 2004 Honda S2000 is listed at 3450LBS. What gives? How Long have we been paying too much?

EDIT: Let me just say... I have always heard we payed by weight, can't confirm that.

Classification is the way it is done. The costs to register a car double a few years ago and I just got mine. Its $157 for 2 years. Half that for 1 year

It more than doubled for me. It cost me $16 to register it the first year, $24 for year two, year three jumped to 48 and then I just renewed mine last month and I think I paid $65 for one year. That is a massive jump but I still can not complain. When I lived in Vegas it cost me on average 360 per year to register my vehicle (98 civic).
