I don't think it would be an issue unless someone got a ticket, which is probably unlikely because all of the cops I talked to didn't know the exact peticulars of the statute.

The back window is staying put after I cut off most of the excess and let it sit for a couple of days. I had it up to 75 today and it stayed on. Looks great too.

I just got back from the tire store. I had them rebalance my new tire. Looks like they left the weights on from a previous balance. The guy took all the weights off and the tire ran true. YEA!!! Hopefully, this is the squirreliness that I felt. I only noticed it a low speeds and at prolonged highway speeds. I need a trip to Boca for a through test!

The way I read it, is if you have amber bulbs your ok.

it say's it has to reflect amber. an amber bulb will reflect amber of a reflective surface/

So I take it my car is not in compliance with the tint because it has reflection

My wife actually tinted my rear plastic window about 3 weeks ago. Looks awesome. She took some tips from KeithD. You get an occassional bubble but I either press down with my finger and it's typically gone. I also have gotten in the habit of using the squeegy to dry the rear window after a wash. Seems to work well so far. KeithD has had his this way for about 2 years if I remember right. My side tint? Well, lets just say I paid cash to have it done. Like someone else said, you typically have the windows down anyway unless it's parked so it's not the least bit obvious.

Ok....maybe I'm not reading this right. I'm not a cop, legislature, or attorney, but I've read a bit more of this statute. I'm not reading anything that says the FRONT has to be amber. It can be amber OR white. Nothing about a diffuser, etc. So, in that vein, wouldn't "nakid" i.e., white/clear bulb be perfectly legal?

Here's the code via copy and paste....

"lamps showing to the front shall be mounted on the same level and as widely spaced laterally as practicable and, when signaling, shall emit white or amber light. The lamps showing to the rear shall be mounted on the same level and as widely spaced laterally as practicable, and, when signaling, shall emit a red or amber light."

This was copied from the following page of the Florida Statutes...

I went to the site and I agree. Turn signals emitting either white or white.

Wife is in Dallas. What a great time to be without my S.

A week without the wife I can handle. Six weeks without my S is going to be torture.

jcarlton - thx for looking that over. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Glad to have a second.

6 wks w/o the S! Man, how's she coming along? Any update on the legal stuff? If this isn't the place just pm me. I was the one that told the story of my accident a few years ago. I hope you don't end up with the soft tissue stuff like I did. Nothing a few Aleve and a few beers won't coax down though....hehehe

I sell tint for a living. This is important. It is against the law to tint windshields. If you get your windshield tinted, then get in an accident, your insurance company may NOT PAY THE CLAIM! We tint windshields, for people who want it, but suggest nothing darker than 50%.

Did anyone tint their glass back window? My thought on that is that the tint will scratch with the continual up and down operation.
