funny video
Hey guys,
A friend of mine created this video and I thought it was pretty funny. It's safe for work and not car related.
Check it out:

Its promoting an online pet owner's community that my company is starting up. Lemme know what you think, and rate the video if you can on MyTube.

I think it would actually work better if it was a 30 second spot. Cut down on the boardroom talk in the beginning, make the wolverine attack scene very short (like cut back to the boardroom the moment the wolverine jumps out of the box). I can't remember the company, bt there were similar spots on TV a couple of years back... board room, ideas flying around, a quick shot of the idea in action and ensuing follies, back to boardroom with everyone saying 'no'. Like relaxing air fresheners for the car... cut from boardroom to scene in car where everyone is so relaxed they fall asleep while driving... back to boardroom where everyone shakes their head 'no'.
Funny idea for the spot, just not a fan of this particular implementation.

I just think it would be funnier if you jammed the action into a shorter time frame, give the viewer less time to guess what's about to happen. People have short attention spans these days and... what was I saying?
Oh yeah, get the joke set up, make the joke happen before people realize it's coming (kind of like guessing the punch line), then smooth it all back down again... let the viewers chuckle while their reading the end taglines about the site.
Just my $0.02 worth...

take out the part where the guy screams out JESUS!!!! in the attack scene. Not that i am against Jesus but it might get canned by the censors anyways so I would lose it now. Was it designed to be a commercial or just promo video for trade show or something?
If it is a comercial then yes you have to edit a bunch of dead weight out. If it is a true promo item then it has some leeway but I would polish it up even in this situation there is a lot of hesitation between dialogue and the pacing of the scenes is just off a little.
it is clever and funny though
Mcgyver was thinking of the Avis rental car campaign about 4-5 years ago...the best one was the rent a Ranger/Be a ranger episode where the baby bear throws up on the guy ROTL
