Default Good Shops Anywhere in Florida?

Hey guys,

I just sold my rsx and bought an 02 s2000. I'm from the sarasota area, and I was hoping to find a shop I could trust. Being new to the s2000, I have a lot to learn. Ive heard horror story after horror story, and I want to be careful choosing an expert at the s2000. I dont mind driving a bit farther if the shop is more compotent. Thats why I posted in the main florida forum. I'm looking at doing some basic bolt ons first, then get a little crazier down the road. But id also like someone to check over the car before i start modding it.

Who do you guys recommend? Thanks.

Luckily you have some excellent options in your area.

Puddy and Dave can handle just about anything...and Puddy is a site sponsor. You can PM him at S2KPUDDYDAD.

2nrwrks is also in your area and has worked on many s2ks for owners in your area. The owner, Todd, is on the boards here too.

Also, some owners have found S&R to be quite good as well.

Once you start going crazy...well shop selection would be based on what you mean by crazy. If you want turbo, then my preference is Stage6 with tuning by Mase here in Jax. But 2nr and S&R have turbo s2k experience as well.

NegCamber,

Thanks for your recommendations. I will look into those shops you listed EXCEPT for 2nrwerks.

I heard HORRIBLE experiences about 2NRWERKS from MORE than one person.

So yeah, that stuff right there scares me.

I will look into the other shops you listed in my area. Or maybe just make the drive to Jax (it will be worth driving a little farther knowing I'll go to the best).

ps.
captainbk, I would love to make it out one night and meet the local s2k owners.

Todds shop has turned around a rough patch after a series of break-ins and some tough dealings with some customers and work. he has made major changes in all areas and is now back better than ever.

remember there are two sides to every story.

Don't be afraid to do some general maintenance (ie: fluid changes). If you do it yourself, you know you'll do it up to your standards!

I wouldn't be shy of 2nrwerks. I've had them work on my car twice now, and regret nothing. Their install and tune of my ITB'd s2k was no simple task, yet they performed admirably despite some snags due to components damaged in shipping. Their attention paid to my projects and desire to exceed my goals/expectations has been the reason why I continue to drive an hour and a half over to there to get work done when I live less than 5 minutes away from Central Florida Turbo, Irish Mike's, AND Titan Motorsports.
