Good deal,
Keep a few things in mind before you buy:
1. Do you have a place that will just do the labor?
the quality of the install is more important than the actual alarm choice
2. have you priced the labor only?
it's probably 250-400... if so what have you saved
3. service- if you buy online and have a problem, service may be a real problem. you may have to remove the bad part and send it to them (weeks without an alarm) that is if they will honor the warranty.
most dealers will not honor an internet warranty, and why would they, if you bought it elsewhere.
Good luck
I would recomend, not installing the remote start in this car.

^ good points. Not all installers will let you bring your own alarm. They want you to buy it from them and will make you buy one of theirs or they give you a run around of how they cant install anything else etc etc..
installers not wanting to install off the street alarms is true and for the most part you should buy from the installer for one main reason:
if something is wrong with the unit they will be able to replace at no charge and any warranties will obviously be in tact.
if you bring in your own (even NIB) the installer has no recourse to replace any parts or the whole unit if something proves defective. also they cannot warranty any unit they dont have recourse to get credit for if something goes wrong or is defective.

Can't see the point of remote start in Florida. By the time I drive the 3/4 of a mile to the main road from my house, I have heat. Not a big deal. And my car starts witha single momentary push of the start button so it's not like it needs to warm up to run right. I guess if you were in sub zero it might have it's benefits but I wouldn't be driving the car in that kind of weather anyway.
I understand that alarm shops do not like to hook that up for a stick car

I have remote start in my element. I love it. Cools the car off in the summer. But I would not do it in a manual shift car. I have seen them start in gear and it ain't pretty. Just to risky.
cooling by remote starts means that you would have to leave the AC engaged and that puts un-need strain on the car during start up.
It takes a bit more to turn the car over and start with the AC engaged then without. I was always taught to turn off the AC when you park and shut off the car becasue of the type of wear/strain.
