Default Greed

got a class action suit in the mail today..

when I bought another car I have, it had some Contiental no flat tires on it... they wore out within about 4,000 miles of purchase.. I took the car back then to the Dealership where I bought the car.. Beck Chrysler in Palatka, Florida.. the dealership replaced them with nice Mich super whatever rain and who knows what Hydroedge... at zero cost to me.. mounted, blanced an aligned and out the door... hey said the tire company would cover so much and the dealership covered the rest, they work nice... anyway today I get this class action letter, some guy musta not worked well with his dealership over maybe the same problem.. the Conti's wore out quick... I feel.. I'm shreading the document cause I got from what I'm reading better then average results.. are we suppose to be greedy or are we suppose to do the right thing.... just sounds to me like some guy got ripped and lawyers are _____________

if you jump in on the lawsuit, all you do it make the lawyers happy. let it go and be happy you got a free set of tires from your dealer.

No need to be greedy. You got what you needed out of it. The self satisfaction you have right now for being an upstanding citizen probably feels pretty good right now.

only one thing to add ...

Your dealership, for whatever financial reason, helped to cover the cost of your tire issue. Not every dealership will do this. From what you wrote it appears that was the case for at least a small group of folks. So, maybe just respond to the interrogatory with your situation in support of their claim without requesting a portion of award.

my 2 cents

From the tire store perspective, it's either warranteed or it's a concession on the dealerships part, no more, no less.....

The greed here is from the lawyers. I hate class action lawsuits and all the lawyers that use them to get rich.

It's important to keep the lawyers happy...it's the law.
