Default Hardtop adjust

I bought it used and the guys installed it perfect, never rattled.
I removed it and now back on it rattles bad at the windshield. How do you tighten it? I removed the trim at the visor and thats not adjustable, just screws in. ??? Hate to put it on now it bangs so bad.

It can be adjusted but, not at the points that you tried.

On the Hard Top itself, the rear plastic side panels can be removed. This will expose the two spikes that insert into the slots of the main car itself. The bracket that holds these "spikes" have three set screws on each side. These allow the spike to move at leats 1/2" in any direction.

Mine had the same issue that yours has. Bought it used and when we did the install, plenty of squeaks and rattles. We took off the panels and just started to "tweek" where we thought the spacing neded to be. It is a tad somewhat inconvenient, as it really comes to trial and error. But, it is the only way. These hard tops are hand made over in New Orleans and have to be individually adjusted to every car.

Hope this helps.......PM me if you have any other issues and I'll try to walk you through it.

Try putting a thin piece of rubber (bicycle inner tube) between the striker and the latch. When you latch it will tighten everything a little harder. I bought my hardtop used and the person used the rubber strips in his car. I used it without the rubber and it squeaked and rattle after putting the rubber back in: nice and quite.

Thanks! I didn't think to look at the top for adjustment.
Also good idea for quick fix with the rubber.

The rubber was a quick fix for me, but only helped for a week or so. I ended up installing hard top strikers which helped immensely (available from hardtopguy.com). Spreading lithium grease around the rubber seal is also beneficial in masking noise.
