I recently put gears into my car along with the yellow jacket from modifry, and aside from a quirk the yellow jacket has been having (when i stop at a red light or something it stops working, and when i restart the car it works again) it has been fine. But today i was driving and it stopped working and the EPS light came on. once i restarted the car i regained power steering and the yj worked again. what the heck happened?

Check your battery. It may be on its way out.

I don't have the yellow jacket, but when I had the EPS light come on, then restarted the car I was fine. Till a day or two then the whole car died do to the battery while I was driving.

Also check your alternator to see if it is properly charging your car. Mine burnt up to cause all my problems.

Just an idea or two to check.

 

The EPS is one of the more voltage sensitive devices in your car...it will notify you first before anything else when you are running in a low voltage condition in your car. Make sure you don't have any small shorts or bleeds that could be draining the battery. Put a meter on your battery from the positive terminal to the ground on the body and read the resistance...if you read anything other than an open circuit, you have a short somewhere.

 

Sounds like a battery to me as well.
