Default At home mechanics

Afternoon guys, I have a head swap job im gonna need done within a few weeks and I was wondering if there were any at home mechanics that would like to take on the job. I was gonna do the job myself as my own project but I'm in the military with horrible hours as far as when I can have free time for this project. Please PM me and I'm looking for guys or gals that have done head swaps before, or honda techs thank you!!!

Didn't you call the shop today? Let me know if we can help you out.

Your better off having a shop do this job.
Pulling a head is not easy task and most will only do it to their own car. You line one gear up wrong and you can have a mess. Bleeding coolant just right. Major thing in FL.
(I know this because I pulled my head three times).

Make sure your new head is checked out by a machine shop so the head is true.

You have several places to choose from.

i have done it twice- but i prefer doing that over swapping a clutch. its not hard just time consuming.

I don't recommend you do it yourself but If you really want to do it yourself take it to the auto hobbie shop on base. It is cheap but your car will probably be down longer and they provide limited help. If it aint a ford or a chevy they probably won't know.

if it's your only form of transportation ... I'd say have a reputable shop or technician do it (even if it's after-hours at their home.)

Otherwise ... if it were me ... I'd do a LOT of reading and give it a try. Proper tools are a HUGE plus. Just expect it to be a bit time consuming and a little frustrating. This is how I learned to build my own Honda motors (B series) and the first one took 3 months!

Only reason I ask is because cost wise, and just in case I get deployed, I could store it somewhere til I get back
