Huge THANKS to blacknot!
Something very cool happened yesterday at the Lakeland FAST autocross event... Yet again, the s2000 community has shown its true colors as one of the best groups of people i have ever had the privelage of being involved with.... as most know, my motor is throwing yet another hissy-fit, so consequently, i was not able to bring my car out there to run in Lakeland like i had originally planned...
I was already going to be in Lakeland anyway, and the event was only about 20 minutes from where i was staying, so i decided to swing by to at least watch and hang out. I had tried asking around in the morning, but no one there had an open seat for me...
However, before the S2000 run-group ran, Blacknot came up to me, and let me know that his co-driver was going to be racing a kart that day instead of running in his car, so he had an open seat! so he was offering it to me! So naturally, i HAD to accept
It was shocking to me to say the least... he had never met me before, and certainly did not have to trust me with his baby...and i'm sure it impaired his times through the day having to rush to spray off tires, change numbers, and move twice as fast in the grid, especially there towards the end when the tires were screaming for mercy from being overheated... but nevertheless, he did it with a smile on his face, and was simply happy to help me out.
Thank you SO much for allowing me to drive your car... i really appreciate it!
This is certainly also not the first time that the S2k community has treated me well.. in the last two months or so, i owe sooo much thanks and gratitude to those who HAVE helped me out with either parts, borrowing cars to use on a daily basis, or allowing me to drive in their cars during autocrosses so that i can not only have fun, but also maybe keep my points up so that i might be able to still have a slim chance in the points race.
no-cones, Willie Gee, EliseAddict, Sartis, Blacknot most notably have helped me out to no end... i just wish my car could have gone back together and been able to run so that i could make you guys proud... hopefully i can get her back together in time for Nationals so that i can help represent up there.
