I added a rear view camera...
Just thought Id share my latest "mod" with the community. I know theres alot of 2000-2001 S2000 owners who know what its like not being able to see through there rear window after years of use. Mine is comepletely trashed and now that I have my HT, my rear blindsides are my only problems.
A couple months ago I stumbled across this item from Audiovox on eBay...
Audiovox Rear View Mirror/Camera
I decided to put it in this week cause my daily route I commute on, I come to an intersection where my passenger rear blind spot comes into play.
This was easy to install. I made a custom Aluminum piece as a bracket to hold my camera right above my license plate.
I than ran the wire all the way through my trunk and into the cockpit. I than ran the wire underneath my passenger railing carpet and hooked it up through my radio. After an afternoon of working, it came out to looking like this...
It has a mic somewhere, but I dont know where bc I can hear my car through the built in speaker in the mirror. It also has AV outlets so you can watch dvd/xbox/ps3 etc which makes it more appealing.
Overall I say it was a good buy and doesnt cost alot to get. I got this for $127shipped and comes with a 2 year warranty. I recommend everyone getting this cause its worth the buy.

nice, I have a rear view camera going to my head unit, comes in handy it used to be on my old CRX and with the limo tint it was a necessity
how's the quality of the display in the mirror? I can output video from my HU and I've though about getting one of those. is the new mirror a lot bigger than stock?

I had my old one in the trunk key hole better view than the license plate area. They are cheap on e-bay and screw right in the hole.
mine is by the license plate, I was lazy I have a kenwood one, super wide angle and good in low light. I can see everything in a culdesac off the brake lights. it's wide angle enough to see people's heads standing a couple feet behind the car.

Hello,
Can someone let me know which keyhole camera that they have used? I do not have a 3d printer to create a custom mount, so I need something that will sit flush with the keyhole and not require additional modificaitons.
Thank you!
