im back from Puerto Rico.
specifically San Juan for 1 day and Rincon for the following 5 days.
here are some pics that capture the whole event. ill have to comment further on them later
here is 8 of us during out first night in rincon. the two people on the left had just met when they arrived in San Juan while waiting for the rest of us to get there. i am on the top of the van with a girl i never even knew before the trip, a buddy who is about to pass out on the roof (who also got tied down to the roof and taken home that way lol), and another person i hadnt met before the trip, my sisters bf is on the right standing next to the van, and another buddy who is in the van lol. there are 3 more people that went with us that were not pictured here.
sleeping arrangements were cramped after we got kicked out of the house were were staying at (for free) and had to go to a hotel room. luckily it was only for 2 nights.
i only got really drunk on the first night in Rincon. the other nights i sustained a reasonable buzz throughout. this worked out better since we got up semi-early to surf and while everyone else was feeling sick i was chillin
me and my sister on a waterfall. i jumped off and immediately suggested that she did not try it. you had to jump away from the rocks to clear a little shelf of rocks at the bottom. i did not do this gracefully (no pics unfortunately) and managed to do a side bellyflop and get the wind knocked out of me lol. it was about a 30ft drop. the water was also "take your breath away" cold!
heres a better picture so you can see just how large this thing is. it was completely badass and next time we go to Rincon we shall return to this waterfall to do it all over again.

alan passed out every night of the trip. his bed was one of the surfboard bags. in this picture he has peanut butter on his face with pizza balls and cotton balls stuck to it. the rest of us were high (my first time was on this trip, not exactly proud of it, but it was pretty fun) and thought this was the funniest shit we've ever seen.
this is some random guy that was prolly shitting bricks while this picture was taken. the waves were big on the last two days we were there so i didnt surf. its a reef break at this spot and this guy would be considered really lucky if he made it out of this fall without hitting the rocks at the bottom.
ill post more up when i get the pics from Chad's camera and prolly some more from my sisters camera and whatever the rest of them post up from facebook. while im at work ill prolly go through the days and what we did and stuff as i find time to do it. it is seriously a fun trip even if you dont surf. the locals in Rincon are some of the nicest people ive ever met and it seems like all of them have the same story on how the ended up there, "i came here for vacation and i never left" lol.

every single bar out in Rincon is fun as shit dude. one bar called "rock bottom" had a bunch of broken surf boards and stuff and a bunch of phrases on the roof support beams. the one i remember is "dont sweat the petty stuff. pet the sweaty stuff"
Then you can get the history lesson about how the FBI had a gun fight with Ma Barker and her crew just a couple blocks away! I think i've actually heard of Rincon before ... just not sure where/who. But, that waterfall makes it well worth it to me

yeah the waterfall was amazing. soooo cold but the view made it worth it.
here is the rincon surf report for the last day we surfed there. look at the 8 pictures on the top right and where it says south side hover over the bottom left picture. look at the dude on that wave to get an idea of how big the waves were.

ok time for update #1:
Day = Sunday
our flight leaves at 12:05pm, so we arrive at the airport at 10:30. after checking in our bags, going through security, and finally making it to the terminal we arrive at the gate at around 11:15. there are seven of us at this point. the alcoholics of the group want to go to the bar and have a beer or two before they leave. so we walk back to the bar (about a 2 minute walk) and sit down. at around 11:40 i tell my sister that we should probably go back to the gate and wait so we dont miss the plane. i thought she turned around and told everyone to finish their beers so we can go, but apparently she didnt. she turns back to me and says "we'll just let them finish their beers and then we'll go." at about 11:45 i say f it and get up from the bar and start walking, 3 others follow me. we stop at the bathroom and then get to the gate where the Spirit Airlines staff is being surprisingly urgent in getting us on the plane. afterall, we still have 15 minutes before the plane is supposed to leave at this point. me and chad1 get on the jetway, my sister is trying to get the airline staff to hold it open for another minute and darin runs back to the bar to get the others. the staff finally tells me and chad that we need to either get on the plane or get out of the jetway. so we walk off the jetway and as soon as we step out, they close the door and thats that. literally 10 seconds later the rest of the group comes running around the corner and a yelling arguement ensues between the groups "hothead" and the airline staff. there is nothing we can do but he doesnt realize this and almost gets the police called on him due to his aggressive nature and language. the next flight is at 10:35... so we proceed to get plastered at the airport for the next 10 hours.
it sucks complete balls b/c we had plans to visit some rum factory that day and there are two people that were on their way from texas and california. nathan from california arrived in San Juan at 11am and was already waiting, he did not enjoy hearing the news we had to give him. Candace from texas is supposed to arrive about 20 minutes before we were supposed to arrive. they dont even know each other, but end up spending the whole day together like a blind date lol. i wouldnt mind b/c candace is about an 8 imo.
we finally board the next plane to San Juan. ironically the jetway is STUCK to the plane for the next 40 minutes. we joke about how it couldnt have happened to the first plane. Brandy passes out before the plane takes off (nervous flyer + zanex (i think thats how you spell it?) + alcohol = done). we proceed to draw on her b/c it just seemed like the right way to start off the trip lol. i should have pics of this later, it makes me lmao just thinking about it.
we arrive in San Juan at around 2am and Nathan and Candace pick us up. i meet Candace for the first time and i am glad she's on this trip lol. we arrive at the hotel that we are staying at in San Juan and all but 3 of us pass out. the other 3 go out to find a bar to drink at... they witness a shooting and head back to the house around 6am and go to sleep.
i will update this post with some pics later and ill do the next days update later on also.
Monday's update will include: visiting Old San Juan, the forts, driving to rincon, the first bar we visited, loud arguements and policia haha
