Due to insurance costs that are beyond the scope of most peoples imagination I am going to have to sell the S. I still remember when I first laid eyes on the SSM Concept and then my first encounter with a Silverstone/Red on the showroom floor at Brandon Honda. I said one day I was going to own one of those. A lot of work and a little more than 3 years later and I had my dream car. Its been one hell of a ride over the 11 months or so I've had it and I was on the verge of tears when I handed over the keys to get it appraised. Hopefully my rates will go down and I'll be able to afford another one in the next few years. Until then though I think I'm pretty well set on the Wrangler, at least I'll still be able to get my drop-top fix and I figure I can still keep my screen name too.

Did you already get rid of it, or just had it appraised?

Just had it appraised, they offered $20K which seems to be right about in line with what most people are getting selling it on their own after you figure in close to $600 I would save in taxes by trading it in.

Before you get rid of it, you need one last cruise somewhere. When are you going to trade it in? 20K sounds kind of low. Are you sure you couldn't sell it for more on your own?

I think we'll call you Alex! (JK Alex). Okay, so now you aren't selling! Good news! See, we told you to call around and see about getting a lower rate. What you were paying was way too high. Just our of curiousity, did you ever call AIG? AIG and Geico had the best rates when we were shopping for insurance for my car.

Cool

That must have been a rough 11 hours. I'm with Tidal. These ups and downs are crazy.

Congrats on keeping your car.

Insurance is such a screwy thing. Our 92 Accord is more to insure than my 2003 Jeep! Our S has never been that much to insure- could be that married and over 30 thing (well at least for Jim anyway) that comes into play.

Glad you are keeping the car. You'll start to see your rates change as time goes by!!!
