I think it should have links to the best of the Hotties forum!
Honestly...either The Calender needs to be the primary source for all our meeting posts or each major area needs a sticky for their meets (Tampa, Orlando, Jax).

OK this thread should work.
Everybody with an opinion:
post in here and offer up some solutions. try not to argue. if you see ideas that are fairly congruent to your ideas then get on board with it. if we come to a decent consensus then steps can be taken, but we can not adopt 75 changes from 30 different people. the group will have to agree on a plan of action before we can move forward.
James:
give this a timeline and then close topic when the time comes. Try to formulate a plan after everybody reaches an agreement (or close to it). Submit that plan to the CO's so we can have a singular, concise request to evaluate.
Good luck to everyone and hopefully this will all be fine when we are done.

The calendar will never work until two things happen:
1. people with permissions post as much as they can in there
2. Users start to go there in droves for info
here are some inherent problems with trying to utilize the calendar soely as THE resource for all meets and events:
1. what if there are two or three different events for a given day in different markets??
2. some events require more info then the little box can provide and usually a discussion is involved. why is not a singular thread about each event not sufficient???
the calendar IMHO should be something used to remind a person about upcoming events and give the briefest of information about that event. If I am wondering whats going on a given week or month I would look up there and see what was going on. I would then want to find the Thread about that particular event and find out more information.
The person making the initial thread about a meet or event should be a person with permissions into the calendar and then be willing to post that event in the calendar when the thread is created.
if meet/event threads are not being bumped with information or responses often enough to be kept on the first page then people can TTT it if they need to. If a thread is created for an event that is a month or more away then that thread should be stickied.
Stickies, calendars and threads for that matter will not work if people do not start using them. IF I sticky a thread it sickens to hear from people "Dont sticky it, it will never be read up there!!!".....WHY IS THAT?????
Start looking up there people!!!! Start USING the calendar if it is important!!! Start looking up and clicking on these threads and reading!!!
Whats going to piss me off the most is if we kick each other in the crotch for the next two weeks over these stickies and calendar and then make all these changes and then nothing happens.
Get active people! Co's and the few movers and shakers out here cant do it all. you want more meets in an area, start them up. Dont wait for CO to do it, do it for yourselves. I know I have had a rough few weeks here lately and there is no rule stating that CO's will be the sole entities able or in charge of planning/posting meets and events.
You want something changed? post it up and run with it like James here.
whether this applies to you or not, this thread should kick everybody back into being a bit more proactive and hopefully a lot less reactive.
Not bitching or trying to flame or start an argument. if changes are needed then we should do something. I just want more input from more people and basically some civic rumblings from an otherwise quiet majority concerning our local forum and it's daily happenings.

This is what I propose:
Combine Florida S2000 owners and Show us Your Ride. Start it all over. I think we need a new up to date list.
No monstrosity weekly threads. Instead, Event organizers that have access to Event Calendar put the link to the meet thread in the description area of the Event. One stop shop for all info. Just copy and paste the link into your browser and find all the info you need without having to search for the thread. http://www.google.com/calendar/event?eid=Z...merica/New_York
Remove the resource thread or utilize it more.
The Florida S2000 sightings thread could stay or go. I can see the value in it as a historical document.
Thanks, James.
