I still question the whole filtration issue. My buddy went through two engine rebuilds with his 240Z back in the 70's using minimal filtration. The images you showed of those filters could not possibly filter out much larger than small sand. Your engine is doomed to be toast in a very short period of time. It is a maer of physics. less filtration....more air.....less filtration....more grit....more engine wear

I see where your coming from captain and I agree. The fact of the matter is though, like I said, there is some next to none filtration for these ITBs. Any filtration system made for the throttle bodies cost about 300+ and lose a suffiecient amount of power. Nate (WildcardTRD) also has tried to figure out a filtration system that can protect his engine. He used a type of air conditionin ventilation filter and lost about 10hp on the dyno. The cost of these filters are MUCH cheaper than these other products and help you maintain the power you have.

I needed a type of filter that can protect me from large debris and most importantly water. I know its not fullproof of course. but there isnt much of a market to choose from. Whenever you mod a car, theres always a risk. isnt there?
These are new, and will be very popular amongst filtration systems in the coming years. These were at alot of vendors booth at the PRI show. Which is where I found my product. You work with what is out there.

I say go forced induction Roger!!! haha j/p good research but....
the lost of 10hp will be probably better then let's say the loss of engine if you hit a huge truck with sand coming out on the freeway right? Just be careful, just becase its cheaper still doesn't mean you will come on top. Plus they do race cars which race cars don't see what we see on the daily roads.

I know that. But again Nghi, there isnt much out there to protect the throttle bodies. I always try to look out for anything that dangers my car now. After all the crap that happened to me the past year. Get you lip in yet?

What would look cool would be four small K&N type cone filters....one on each.
