Time to get serious about the Dragon...

I usually go early but with the event starting a day sooner this time I have not yet decided.

 

Hey guys, I'd like to know what your plans are driving to the Dragon. We have a small group put together from the Louisiana/Mississippi area, and we would love to meet up with others along the way. We have not decided on a time or date yet, but it's looking like we will be leaving late wednesday night or early thursday morning. We will most likely be taking I-10 to I-65 to I-85 straight through Atlanta (possibly meet up with the Atlanta crew) into northern georgia (blue ridge). We've discussed this route because it will take us through the blue ridge foothills into deals gap. It is the second shortest route by 8 minutes, but it will offer some great driving toward the end. Will a representative of your group please PM me with your plans. How to meet you guys along the way! --Mike

Yes, I'll be leaving from FL Panhandle (Navarre) up to 65/59/75/61 then across.

The route you are travleing is a good one as I have taken it many times in the past but wanted to try a new one this time, as I suggested above.

If you guys change your route let me know as I'll be leaving early Thursday morning.

 

well, it looks like we will be taking your route after all.... some of the people in my group want to avoid atlanta at all costs. I told them its not that bad, but they outnumbered me. be sure to keep in touch so we can make plans to meet up.

We have a group leaving from the Tampa area and some from Orlando. Hopefully the Orlando folks will meet up with us at I-75 & the Turnpike.

We will follow the route we took last year which is I-75 north to Macon Georgia where we will pick up HWY 129 and take it north to overnight in Clayton Georgia (Thursday evening) and drive more twisty roads into Deals Gap Friday morning.

We had a great time last year with 10 cars, and the Friday route from Clayton to Deals Gap is an awesome drive.

If any of you guys want hook up along the way, the more the Merrier!

 

I'm driving from southern FL. I don't know who is going from down here and what driving plans are. I deff want to drive with more then just me.
