Default I've got "Intake-itis"!

So I decided to run a quick errand today with the stock airbox lid off. Holy moly.....did it sound good...especially down low. I've been wanting an intake, but now it may be an urge I cannot control.

I am leaning towards one of two options:

K&N FIPK II and later adding the AUT cooling plate

-or-

Comptech Intake (possibly also with the AUT plate...I think these two would look purty next to each other).

Hmmmm...decisions decisions....

I rode with the air box top off during auto x and it definately sounds more aggressive.

Short ram K&N is the way to go. Easy install, easy filter access to maintain, no chance of hydrolock, plastic intake tube does not transfer heat like metal tubes do, looks good, sounds very mean and aggressive, large heat shield acts like an airbox by blocking heat very effectively but it's not completely sealed off so it does not restrict airflow at higher rpm's. do it do it!!!!

I'm definitely down with the short ram. I have no desire to deal with the hassle of cleaning a CAI filter nor do I want to worry about hydrolock. If I manage to hydro a short ram then I've got bigger fish to fry (literally...they'd prolly be flopping around in the passenger seat at that point!)

I saw the GB on the K&N, but honestly the price isn't that great......

*sigh*.......off to browse eBay.

I'd love to get the FIPK, but then I couldn't run A-stock in autocross

Oh well, I'll just stick to running with the box lid open and my K&N filter
